CATERPILLAR has unveiled the first hydraulic excavator constructed at its facility in Tosno, Russia at the CONEXPO trade show.

The 320D unit was the first ‘core’ vehicle the company has produced in Russia, despite being part of the market for 80 years. The developer had previously only built components and small machinery at the Tosno facility.
The manufacturer says it upgraded the facility to produce its ‘core’ range as a result of the inflating Russian market, which has expanded by 550% in the last five years.
The company also displayed its full range of paving and road construction products at the trade show.
The event was held in the International Exhibition Centre, Crocus Expo in Moscow in mid-September 2008.
